2lbschicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
4tablespoonsolive oil
4clovesgarlic, minced
1teaspoononion powder
1teaspoonsmoked paprika
1teaspoonItalian seasoning
1cupgrated Parmesan cheese
to tastesalt and pepper
for garnishfresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Dry wings help achieve a crispier texture.
In a large bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them with the marinade until evenly coated. Allow the wings to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or if time permits, refrigerate for up to 2 hours for enhanced flavor.
Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Once preheated, arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Cook the wings for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time for even crispiness. Check for an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) to ensure they are fully cooked.
Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot wings and toss until they are well coated.
For extra flavor, you can return the wings to the air fryer for an additional 2-3 minutes at 400°F (204°C) to lightly crisp the Parmesan on top.
Transfer the wings to a serving platter and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
Notes
Serve hot with a side of your favorite dipping sauce, and optional celery and carrot sticks for a classic touch.
