In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
Add the chopped chives, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt to the cheese mixture. Blend until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
Fold in the chopped dried cranberries, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the cheese mixture.
Lay a large sheet of plastic wrap on a flat surface. Spoon the cheese mixture onto the center of the wrap, then using the wrap, shape it into a log by rolling it tightly.
Twist the ends of the plastic wrap to secure the log shape, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
Once the cheese log is firm, remove it from the fridge and unwrap it from the plastic.
Place the finely chopped pecans on a large plate. Roll the cheese log in the pecans, pressing gently to ensure they adhere well to the log.
Slice the cheese log into rounds for serving or serve it whole with a knife.
