Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
In a separate bowl, mix the rolled oats, flour, remaining cinnamon, melted butter, salt, and walnuts (if using) until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples, covering them evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the apples are bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
